7/28/2023 0 Comments Eastward demo![]() ![]() On the topic of dialogue, an option to either auto advance or to instantly display it would be much appreciated (as was said above, the overall speed of NPC and plot interactions could be sped up to improve the flow of the game) The in shop dialog and the item text all seemed to be in a broken English + I adore the hint of combat that we did get and I really liked the interaction between the two characters abilities (psi bubblese to freeze, pan to SMAAAASH!) I hope there is more of this + Menu navigation was fairly straightforward + The chiptune music for the demo was very pleasant and might benefit from some softer tracks to fit some of the more pastel colour pallets + The art direction is spot on with lush environments and a diverse range of characters and the menu style and the animations and the cooking and the.I could go on but I wont (like a next generation Earthbound with a dash of that Studio Ghibli charm) I have been following this game for what seems like forever and after having just played the demo I must admit, the atmosphere blew my mind more than I expected (and that's what drew me to the game in the first place!). I noticed after I died during fight Sam is just sitting on John when compared to my other deaths it was just John kneeling as the game over screen showed. It would take me a few tries just to destroy it and get through because for some reason the bubble would not connect with the plant and slip by it without registering. When I was trying pushing the wood raft at the water part of the game there is a plant blocking the way which needed to get hit by the Sam's bubble in order to get through. And to add to that, I died multiple times just because of this issue.Īlso a tutorial would have helped in the beginning to understand the game, since came in and downloaded the game blind I had no idea what to expect, but since there weren't any guide on how I was suppose to play the game I had to look in the settings just to understand the controls. The little dot cursor when fighting was very annoying to control, I had to put my mouse all the way to the edge off the screen just so I can get to the right position and attack. Unless it was suppose to be that way I guess it makes sense to just explore but it just didn't follow up on what I was suppose to do in the game. So first of at the beginning at the game I got really confused on what to do, there didn't seem to be a main objective so I walked around until a cutscene appeared. Before I mention about things that should be improved in the game I just wanted to say that the game was pretty fun and cleaver! I will definitely keep an eye out on the game when it releases! ![]()
